Reclaim is a forthcoming anthology of poetry that asserts the reclamation of a woman’s body from the oppression and victimization endured in a capitalist-patriarchal society.

The woman’s body is but one of the most controversial, most anatomized political venue. Under the cloak of capitalist-patriarchal systems, women remain to be held captive: by conditioning us to live up to unrealistic beauty standards in order for companies to capitalize on our insecurities, by permitting our continuous objectification under the male gaze to promote opportunities to profit from this oppression, by invalidating the identity of trans women in attempts to preserve the conservative notion that womanhood is synonymous to fertility and motherhood. Women may have come so far in pursuit of equal rights, but the fight is nowhere near over. Through poetry, we seek to probe into this study, to assert the reclamation of the woman’s body as her own.
