New year, new website!

2020 was a tumultuous year, to say the least. Between family crises, health issues of my own, loss of work, and the pandemic and unrest on a global scale, my writing efforts were one of the many things that fell to the wayside. Like so many people, though, I’m hoping for a fresh start with 2021.

In pushing for that fresh start, I’ve been working on an awful lot behind the scenes. I set up my 2021 planner and bullet journal. I’m getting caught up on all things Nightingale & Sparrow. My lifestyle blog is officially relaunched as An Ideal Life. I’m working to get back on track with my regular contributions. I even have a few new coffee mugs on hand to get me through the new year and beyond!

Best of all, though, (for anyone visiting my writing site, at least), this site had a major makeover. If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice the pretty drastic design changes. But the updates aren’t all aesthetics—content’s overhauled, too.

new year

Some new year changes to the site:

Check out my updated freelance rates & offerings, if you might be in need of a writer, editor, a new website of your own, or a batch of social media posts. Visit Pencils & Pages for a look at the new layout (with new posts coming soon!) or reach out about adding your book to my review queue. Order some books to get a head start on your 2021 Goodreads Reading Challenge or prints and mugs to inspire (and caffeinate you) through the new year. Read through or revisit my publications from the past year or even earlier.

For most of 2020 I didn’t have the time and energy to submit my work. I’m revamping my backend spreadsheets, seeking out presses, and reading through my pieces and manuscripts. Assuming I have a bit of luck, stay tuned for plenty of publications in the new year!

As always, thank you for your support—and here’s to a stellar 2021!
