“Flight”
Marías at Sampaguitas

Flight

It really is a miracle that I made it
from ground to ground, overwater,
through this metal tunnel in the clouds,
with a single glass of wine,
a styrofoam cup of tea,
and white rice and veggies,
and not a single tear for
what I’d left behind.
